As reported in the Tatarstan Agricultural Research Institute, scientists of Tatarstan developed a new method of Colorado potato beetle controlling.
The new method of Colorado potato beetle controlling is what prior to planting potato tubers are treated with a special agent. After that the blasts don’t threaten the plants during the whole summer. Colorado potato beetles die when they touch leaves of the plants and use them as food. Colorado potato beetle ovocates also die.
According to recent reports of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan the spring sowing campaign is being carried out in all regions of the republic. 566.2 thousand ha (33%) have been sowed.
103,700 ha are sowed with wheat, 260,200 ha are sowed with rye, and 431,800 ha are sowed with spring crops.
Marat Akhmetov – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – reported on the sowing campaign at the session in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan today.
Within the framework of the second part of Social Organisations Forum “Together!” on Tuesday, April 29, a round table discussion “Civil society – creating the future” was held. Participants discussed various problems of AIC and quality of life in the village.
Nikolai Titov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Ilsul Safiullin, Vice-Chairman of the State Council Committee of Ecology, Natural Resource Management and Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, took part in the round table discussion. Villagers from Atnya, Saby, Baltasi as well as from other regions discussed with the officials the most important issues.
The spring sowing campaign is gathering pace in Tatarstan despite the fact that it started a litter later this year due to bad weather conditions. According to Ildus Gabdrakhmanov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, who was giving a speech at the Cabinet of Ministers briefing, in 2014 the sowing area in Tatarstan is 2.9 million ha (which is equal to the figures of previous years) where 1.7 million ha are for spring sowing.
Every year on April 28 World Day for Safety and Health at Work is celebrated. Its aim is to attract attention of the world society to the widespread problems of how development of work safety could promote decline in annual death rate at the workplace.
The topic of 2014 is “Work safety in using of chemicals at the workplace”. Every year World Day of Safety and Health at Work is devoted to the problems vital for the International Labour Organisation and is devoted to different issues such as: “Work safety at each workplace”, “Risk management”, “Safe work – the right of everyone”, “Promotion of work safety in green economy”, etc.
Today the conference of Tatarstan Gardeners Union has taken place in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan chaired by Nikolai Titov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Representatives of ministries and departments, heads of the executive boards of municipal districts and suburbs of Kazan, chairmen of gardeners’ non-commercial partnerships and gardeners were invited to the event.
The Federal Department of Agriculture summed up the results of the specific-purpose program called “Preservation and remediation of farmlands fertility and preservation of agricultural landscapes as part of the Russian National Heritage for the periods of 2006-2010 and till 2013”. The results are posted on the official website of the Government of the Russian Federation.
According to the current data there is spring sowing in 25 regions of the republic. The total territory for sowing is 45,900 ha.
7,600 ha are sowed with wheat, 25,900 ha are sowed with barley, 39,000 ha are sowed with winter crops. There is also oat sowing (3,500 ha), pea sowing (1,900 ha), etc.
On April 21, as a part of a joint session of the Upper Chamber and the President’s Council on carrying-out of priority national projects and demographic policy, Nikolai Fedorov – Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation – gave a speech on the issues of sustainable development of rural regions. The session was chaired by Vladimir Putin.
