Conference of Tatarstan Gardeners Union

Today the conference of Tatarstan Gardeners Union has taken place in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan chaired by Nikolai Titov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Representatives of ministries and departments, heads of the executive boards of municipal districts and suburbs of Kazan, chairmen of gardeners’ non-commercial partnerships and gardeners were invited to the event.

The following officials gave the speech: Vladimir Deinekin, Chairman of the Gardeners Union, Marat Zaripov, General Member of the Ecology, Natural Management and Agriculture Committee of the National Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, Alexander Druzhin, Director of Land and Property Relations Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kamiyar Baitemirov, Chairman of Farmers and Farmsteads Association of Tatarstan, representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Public Road System, the Ministry of Civil Defense Affairs and Emergencies of the Republic of Tatarstan, Tariff National Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan, etc.

According to Alexander Druzhin, there are 376 thousand plots of land for gardening (total area of 28 thousand ha), where 17 thousand ha are in private ownership. Gardening is especially well developed in the suburbs of Kazan and some other towns in the republic.

In 2011 infrastructure inventory of horticultural societies was carried out. According to the results, the majority of them is in need of tote road construction and reconstruction (402 km), installation of power lines (418 km) and construction of pipelines.

Mr Druzhin noted that unfortunately the budget of the republic has no funds for construction and reconstruction of engineer infrastructure, creation conditions to meet ecological and sanitary requirements (roads, water towers and communications, power lines, fire tanks, solid waste casks and space for them).

Speaking about providing gardeners with transplants and seeds of high quality, the problem is considered to have been solved by the Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences and “Tatplodovoschprom” Llc”, noted Mr Druzhin.

He also reminded that distribution of agricultural products is possible on the territory of the agroindustrial park “Kazan”.

Nikolai Titov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, touched upon the issues of agricultural production, too. He noted that the Ministry does its best to provide institutions with local agricultural products.

Vladimir Deinekin, Chairman of Tatarstan Gardeners Union, reported on the development of gardening in the republic. According to his words, the Tatarstan Gardeners Union is the main authority for the gardeners to apply to with their problems. He introduced the members of the union who gardeners can apply to. Mr Deinekin also introduced new Regulations of the Union with all rights and responsibilities of Union members.

He paid attention to the most important problems at the moment, namely, access ways to gardens and power lines which are to be signed off to municipalities or SUE “Power lines”.

The following issues were discussed during the conference: unauthorized occupation of driveways, construction relative to borders, fruit trees and power lines, offensive activity of local police inspectors concerning disadvantaged gardeners, etc.
