As reported in the Tatarstan Agricultural Research Institute, scientists of Tatarstan developed a new method of Colorado potato beetle controlling.

The new method of Colorado potato beetle controlling is what prior to planting potato tubers are treated with a special agent. After that the blasts don’t threaten the plants during the whole summer. Colorado potato beetles die when they touch leaves of the plants and use them as food. Colorado potato beetle ovocates also die.

This way it is possible to cut the number of the blasts, as the scientists say. The main condition is the necessity for the entire community to carry out the treatment of seeds simultaneously on the whole territory of the settlement.

The scientists state that there are no pesticides in the potato tubers grown from the seeds which have been treated with the agent. IA “Tatar-Inform” says that the potatoes grown this way are ecologically safe.
