Every year on April 28 World Day for Safety and Health at Work is celebrated. Its aim is to attract attention of the world society to the widespread problems of how development of work safety could promote decline in annual death rate at the workplace.
The topic of 2014 is “Work safety in using of chemicals at the workplace”. Every year World Day of Safety and Health at Work is devoted to the problems vital for the International Labour Organisation and is devoted to different issues such as: “Work safety at each workplace”, “Risk management”, “Safe work – the right of everyone”, “Promotion of work safety in green economy”, etc.
According to the International Labour Organisation, every day about 5,000 people die at the workplace due to work accidents and diseases, which amounts to 2-2.3 million death accidents at the workplace in total. Moreover, every year employees suffer from approximately 270 million accidents at the workplace which lead to the absence at the workplace for more than 3 days.
In 2013 in AIC there were 16 fatal work injuries where 16 people died (16% of the republican rate), 116 people got injuries of varying severity.
In this regard farmers of our republic should organize such events as round-table discussions, seminars, contests, etc. devoted to work safety.
