The conference was opened by Marat Zyabbarov.

"In modern conditions, ensuring biological safety is a very urgent task, the solution of which is impossible without the joint efforts of the entire international community. It was confirmed by the coronavirus pandemic, which not only claimed human lives, but also seriously affected the socio-economic situation of all countries of the world, including the agricultural sector. It is obvious that ensuring biological safety requires close cooperation of all relevant departments, scientific and medical communities. In these difficult conditions, fundamental and applied research in the field of epidemiology, virology and genetic technologies have received a new impetus," the Minister said.

"Holding such conferences is an important part of the work on shaping the future of our science, including the preservation and development of ties between the scientific schools of the CIS countries. There are three major areas on the agenda: biosafety, genetics and ecology. They can be considered as a response to the serious challenges of the modern world, where, unfortunately, man-made disasters are becoming an integral part of scientific and technological progress," Zhanna Nasybullina said in turn.

Then the conference was continued by plenary reports, where topical issues of veterinary biotechnology, genetics, ecology were discussed.
