Marat Zyabbarov examined the experimental fields of TatNIISH and discussed with the scientists the prospects of the industry
Today, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov examined the experimental fields, the technological field of "Field Day in Tatarstan" and the scientific laboratories of TatNIISH. The Minister was accompanied by First Deputy Minister Nail Zalakov, Deputy Minister Ildus Gabdrakhmanov, head of the TatNIIKH FIC KazSC RAS, Marcel Tagirov, as well as other responsible persons.
During the inspection, Marat Zyabbarov got acquainted with the state of crops and the production and technological base of the institute, and also discussed crop production with scientists.
Marcel Tagirov made a brief overview of the current state of the lines of activity of the research institute. He noted that next year, the year of the 100th anniversary of the TASSR, the institute will also celebrate its centenary. Currently, the Institute conducts research on crop production, plant protection and biotechnology, livestock production in 3 areas of the Fundamental Research Program of the State Academies of Sciences for 2013-2020.
“The largest area of research with large-scale implementation in production is selection and seed production. We are breeding in 15 crops (winter rye, winter wheat, winter triticale, spring wheat, barley, spring rape, peas, soy, buckwheat, millet, potatoes, corn, apple, cherry, plum), 17 types of seed production. Currently the State Register includes 88 varieties and hybrids that being produced in 32 regions of Russia, ”said Marcel Tagirov.
Also, the scientists of the institute familiarized themselves with the innovations in the selection and seed-growing industry. So, the chief researcher of the institute, Doctor of Biological Sciences Mira Ponamoreva talked about new varieties of winter rye, which show high productivity in conditions of risky agriculture.
In addition, during the meeting, they discussed the solution of the problem of protein deficiency in animal husbandry through the introduction of new varieties of grain crops, the stages of selection and the introduction of new varieties in the agricultural production of the republic, as well as the main problems of the industry and ways to rationally solve them.
