A beauty contest among breeding heifers “Beauty of Agrovolga” will be held in Kazan

From July 3 to July 5, as part of the International Agro-Industrial Exhibition "AGROVOLGA" in the adjacent fields of the Kazan Expo IEC, the Republican competition of breeding animals "BEAUTY OF AGROVOLGA" will be held.

The competition, which has become an annual event, will bring together 80 animals from 40 breeding farms of the Republic of Tatarstan. A special feature of this year will be that the competition will be held among dairy heifers. Contestants will compete not only for first place, but also for such nominations as “Dairy type expression”, “Harmonious gait”, “Most voluminous animal”, and many other outstanding features of the exterior.

To hold a competition of this level, a modern mobile farm with an adjacent arena for breeding animals and stands for spectators will be built on the exhibition grounds. 
Heifers will be judged according to linear conformation traits approved by the World Holstein Federation. For an independent assessment and selection of winners, an international professional appraiser of the National Association of Holstein-Friesian Cattle Producers of the Hungarian Republic - Xebök Tamás, as well as a certified Line Evaluation Classifier of the Association of Holstein Cattle Producers of the Russian Federation - Alexander Nechaev was invited.

Guide animals – handlers – will also compete. A competition among breeding specialists is held for the ability to correctly lead an animal in a given direction, pace and trajectory according to the instructions of the judge. 

The livestock competition at the show will not end there. The First International Cattle Hoof Trimming Tournament will also take place there, in which 150 orthopedic veterinarians will take part.

This block will be accompanied by a busy business program, where experts will discuss current issues in livestock farming. This section will be sponsored by EkoNiva-APK Holding LLC.
