Forage harvesting has begun in Tatarstan

Forage harvesting has begun in the Aznakayevo, Muslyumovsky, Nurlatsky, and Aktanyshsky municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. A total of over 620 hectares of perennial grasses and winter crops have been mown, with 2,326 tons of silage and 150 tons of hay harvested.

This year, to provide feed for the existing livestock population, 3.2 million tons of silage, 3.66 million tons of silage, and 320,000 tons of hay will be harvested. This will provide an average of 40 centners of feed units per head of cattle.

To ensure the successful completion of the forage harvesting campaign, the republic has deployed a fleet of agricultural machinery. 711 self-propelled forage harvesters, including 624 self-propelled ones, over 1,500 balers, and 1,317 trailed and mounted mowers will be working in the fields. This ensures timely and high-quality completion of assigned tasks.
