The winners of the horse races and the International Jockey Championship were announced at the Kazan Hippodrome as part of the KazanForum 2026.
On May 16, 2026, the Kazan Hippodrome hosted the "Business on Horseback" horse races and the International Jockey Championship - the KazanForum 2026 Cup - for the first time as part of the 17th International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum." The Forum's ceremonial conclusion included an equestrian show featuring thoroughbred English, Arabian, and Tatar horses three years and older, born in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Open access to the stands allowed many residents and visitors of Kazan to personally witness the competition between leading jockeys and the best thoroughbreds.
The championship brought together racing masters from various Russian regions (Tatarstan, Dagestan, Chechnya, Bashkortostan, Mari El, Adygea, and the Krasnodar and Stavropol Krais), as well as representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan. The total prize fund was 9 million rubles.
In the first race for Tatar horses, the Tatar Kanata Prize, jockey Ilnur Vafin, riding the stallion Dulkyn, won the 2000-meter race.
In the Greater Eurasian Partnership Cup, master jockey Aidamir Shegushev, riding the stallion Canterville, won the 1800-meter race for thoroughbreds born in 2023.
International master jockey Eduard Bolshakov, riding the stallion Citroen Bill H, took first place in the Technological Alliance Cup over 1,600 meters.
In the fourth race for the 2023 and older Arabian Horse for the Russia-Islamic World Forum Prize, jockey Albert Shaikhutdinov, riding the stallion Voskhod Tersk, won over 1,800 meters.
In the race for the International Jockey Championship - KazanForum-2026 Cup, the Tatar stallion Slice, ridden by international master jockey Myrzabek Kappushev, took first place over 1,800 meters.
In the sixth race for the prestigious "Heritage of Russia" prize among Orlov trotters, the stallion Uspeshnyy Brand, ridden by master jockey Gennady Bolshakov, won over 1,600 meters.
In the 2000-meter race for the Tatarstan Republic Cup among thoroughbred horses, Good Humor Man, led by master jockey Aidamir Shegushev, took first place.
The final race for the OIC Prize among thoroughbred horses was won by stallion Only You RM, with Russia's best female rider, Irina Kotlyakova.
In addition to the equestrian competitions, guests enjoyed fascinating exhibitions, a farmers' fair, themed photo zones, and a variety of entertainment, creating an atmosphere of celebration and international cooperation.
