Rustam Minnikhanov and Marat Zyabbarov assessed the progress of sowing work in the Bugulma District
Tatarstan's Rais Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Bugulma District on a working visit. The Rais inspected the progress of spring sowing work. He was accompanied by Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Agriculture and Food, and Damir Fattakhov, Head of the Bugulma District.
At a meeting with farm managers and heads of rural settlements, the current situation in the fields was discussed. According to the district head, sowing in the district is proceeding well. A total of 43,700 hectares are planned for sowing. To date, work has been completed on 14,300 hectares, or 33%. Of these, spring grains occupy more than 5,700 hectares, sunflowers - 4,800 hectares, and oilseed flax - over 3,500 hectares. Industrial hemp is also sown on 180 hectares: its straw is used in various industries, particularly in the production of materials.
Currently, approximately 220 people and 150 pieces of equipment are involved in fieldwork. More than 2,000 hectares are being sown daily in the district. If favorable weather conditions persist, spring sowing is scheduled to be completed by May 20.
The Rais of the Republic was informed that 7,193 hectares of winter crops have been sown for the 2026 harvest. Work to conserve moisture and fertilize perennial grasses continues. Fertilizer consumption currently stands at 48 kg of active ingredient per hectare. This work is ongoing, with plans to increase the consumption to 80 kg per hectare.
Regarding livestock farming, the district has nearly 11,000 head of cattle, including 4,600 cows, and over 551,000 poultry. Milk production is growing by 2%, with daily milk yield reaching 134 tons. Egg production is at last year's level, currently exceeding 25.6 million eggs. Farms have fully stocked all feed.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan noted that 25% of the crops have been weeded out across the republic, and fertilizers are being applied. As for the Bugulma District, the main focus today is on developing private farms. There are only 480 cows on private farms in the entire district. According to the minister, all possible forms of support have been created for this purpose, and he called on village heads to more actively engage with the population.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the priority today is to complete spring field work on time. The Rais of the Republic emphasized the importance of supporting the families of participants in the special military operation, especially the families of fallen soldiers. He assured that all republican programs that help improve the quality of life in the districts will definitely be continued.
Following the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov inspected products produced by local enterprises, including poultry, dairy products, and bread.
Later during their working visit, Rustam Minnikhanov and Marat Zyabbarov attended the ceremonial opening of a grain elevator complex in the village of Yefanovka, Bugulma District.
This facility will become an important link in the agricultural sector's export infrastructure. Once fully operational, the elevator plans to export over 150,000 tons of grain and oilseeds annually. As the company's experience shows, a similar complex launched in western Tatarstan shipped 223,000 tons of agricultural products last year.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the investor for its work in the republic and its contribution to Tatarstan's agro-industrial complex. "In recent years, the company has invested over 38 billion rubles in the development of the agro-industrial complex in 10 districts. It has built modern dairy complexes, a seed plant, and logistics facilities from scratch. Overall, it supports the implementation of comprehensive rural development projects, as well as workers and veterans of the industry," noted the Rais of the Republic.
He emphasized that the project opens up additional opportunities for marketing the republic's ever-growing agricultural produce.
The elevator has a capacity of 100,000 tons of grain storage at a time. A distinctive feature of this elevator is its high loading speed: up to 65 railcars per day.
