Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov reported on the progress of spring field work and the livestock sector's results for the first quarter today at a meeting in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was chaired by the Rais of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin and Acting Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov participated in the meeting.
Despite precipitation, winter crops and perennial grasses were fertilized on 580,000 hectares, or 73% of the total area.
Sowing has begun in 36 districts. 60,000 hectares have been sown, primarily with early spring crops.
In previous years, daily sowing productivity reached 84,000 hectares. This year, approximately 20,000 hectares are being sown. "The weather is improving, and we need to significantly increase the pace of sowing and sow the main areas within two weeks," the minister emphasized.
Marat Zyabbarov then moved on to the second part of his report. Thus, in the first three months of this year, 50 billion rubles were generated from agricultural product sales, 69% of which (35 billion rubles) came from livestock farming, or 97% of last year's figures. Livestock and poultry sales accounted for 15.7 billion rubles, and eggs for 2.6 billion rubles. Furthermore, cash revenue from milk sales, while volumes are growing, amounted to 82% of the 2025 figures. This is due to lower purchase prices. The largest increases in milk production were observed in the Kaibitsky, Atninsky, Menzelinsky, Agryzsky, Baltasinsky, and Kukmorsky districts. They accounted for 97% of the growth.
Production is directly linked to livestock numbers. Positive trends are observed in poultry and pig numbers: increases of 3% and 5%, respectively. Cattle numbers decreased by 3%. However, the cow population increased by 1,000 heads.
Construction of livestock farms continues in the republic. This year, three dairy complexes with a capacity of 3,800 head were commissioned. Nineteen investment projects with a capacity of 20,600 cows are at various stages of implementation. An additional 100,000 tons of milk are expected from the commissioning of these facilities.
The construction of feed centers is also one of the potential sources for increasing milk production. Currently, 59 feed centers are operating in 24 municipal districts, serving over 217,000 head of cattle.
In conclusion, the minister briefly reviewed the results of the spring agricultural fairs, which were held from March 14 to April 26. Following the seven spring fair weeks, agricultural products worth a total of 643 million rubles were sold, including 661 tons of meat, 760 tons of vegetables, 135 tons of bulk milk, 217 tons of sugar, and 1,188,000 chicken eggs. "I express my deep gratitude to our villagers, investors, cities, and districts for their significant contribution and the high level of organization of the fairs," added the head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.
