The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan held the ninth training session as part of the implementation of the project "Avil Yashi - The Village Lives". Deputy Minister Rustem Gainullov took part in it.
As part of the training session, issues of partnership financing through PJSC Ak Bars Bank were considered.
"In Tatarstan, the experiment on partnership (Islamic) financing, which started on September 1, 2023, continues. On March 11, 2025, a bill was introduced to the State Duma of the Russian Federation to extend the experiment until September 1, 2028," said Rustem Gainullov.
Some of the products of partner financing that are available in Tatarstan: ijara—a form of leasing, within the framework of which the lessor acquires and leases to the lessee movable or immovable property for a certain period; sukuk mudaraba—a product on the platform of digital financial assets, based on a trust management agreement, settlement and cash services, to which entrepreneurs actively connect Islamic merchant acquiring and SBP for Islamic business.
He noted that the main differences between partner financing and traditional financial instruments are the rejection of interest transactions and the elimination of uncertainty (agreements must be transparent, with clearly defined terms).
According to him, partner financing products can be used by anyone, regardless of religious, national or other affiliation.
