Kazan hosts the international conference "Agriculture and food security: technologies, innovations, markets, personnel"

The VI International scientific and practical conference "Agriculture and food security: technologies, innovations, markets, personnel" dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the Kazan Agronomic Scientific School began its work in Kazan the day before.

The conference was organized by: the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan State Agrarian University, Kazan State Academy of Veterinary Medicine named after N.E. Bauman, Tashkent State Agrarian University, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Halal Products Research Institute (IPPH), FAO/Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

The conference began its work with a plenary session "Halal industry: standards, technologies, international experience". The Rector of Kazan State Agrarian University Airat Valiev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustem Gainullov, President of the Kazan Academy of Sciences, Director of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution “Research Institute of Agriculture of Crimea” Vladimir Pashtetsky, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Doctor of Economics, Professor Vadim Khomenko delivered welcoming remarks.

Ayrat Valiev spoke about the relevance of the halal industry in the modern world and about cooperation with the University Putra Malaysia. Vladimir Stepanovich noted the fruitfulness of the visit to Tatarstan.

Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Head of the Department of Biotechnology, Animal Husbandry and Chemistry of Kazan State Agrarian University Radik Shaidullin spoke about the possibility of using modern achievements of molecular biology to solve problems of food safety and quality control is of great practical importance. “In the absence of quality assessment, there is a risk of falsification or non-compliance of products with the stated requirements. When buying products labeled “Halal” in a store, Muslims and others must be sure that these products are of high quality, made using a special technology, and do not contain prohibited components,” he noted.
