The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation discussed issues of strengthening the prioritization of Russian fish products

Today, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation held a meeting on the need to strengthen the prioritization of Russian fish products, chaired by State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Maxim Uvaidov. First Deputy Minister Lenar Garipov, Head of the Department for the Development of Livestock Industries Siren Nigmatzyanov and Deputy Head of the Department for the Development of the Food Market Almaz Gamirov took part in the meeting via videoconference.

As part of the meeting, the participants discussed the implementation of the Action Plan to increase domestic consumption of domestic fish products until 2030.

Maxim Uvaidov noted the importance of increasing the availability of fish products to the end consumer and reducing the costs of their transportation.

In the Republic of Tatarstan, the fishery fund consists of the water areas of: Kuibyshev Reservoir - 312 thousand hectares; Nizhnekamsk Reservoir - 90 thousand hectares; Zainsk reservoir - 2 thousand hectares; 580 hectares of fattening and 225 hectares of rearing fish ponds.

The main types of fish grown are: carp, grass carp, silver carp, white and bighead amur - herbivorous fish.

Currently, all areas of aquaculture (fish farming) are present in the republic: pond fish farming, basin fish farming, pasture fish farming, industrial fish farming - in closed water supply systems (RAS).

In the first half of 2024, 228 tons of commercial fish, 102 tons of fish seed were produced in the Republic of Tatarstan, a total of 75 tons of commercial fish were sold.
