Rustam Minnikhanov: "This year's harvest will allow us to fully provide the population with food products and deliver significant volumes of it outside the republic"
Today, the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov addressed the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan for 2025. The announcement of the Message took place in the State Grand Concert Hall named after S. Saidashev in Kazan.
The event was held as part of the second meeting of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan of the seventh convocation with the agenda "Annual Message of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan to the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan on the internal and external situation of the republic".
"Despite unfavorable weather conditions, this year we expect a harvest of about 3.8 million tons of grain, including corn for grain, over 2 million tons of sugar beets, more than 1 million tons of potatoes and vegetables. This will allow us to fully provide the population with food products and deliver significant volumes of it outside the republic," Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan began his speech.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the workers of the fields for their difficult and very important work, and expressed special words of gratitude to the companies Tatneft and TAIF for providing agricultural producers with diesel fuel at a preferential price.
"We continue to systematically engage in the development of the agro-industrial complex. In Tatarstan, despite the difficult situation, all support measures have been maintained. Thus, only this year 1.8 billion rubles were allocated for updating equipment, about 1 billion rubles - to improve soil fertility," Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan emphasized.
In the Year of Scientific and Technological Development, specific results in the selection of their own seeds are expected from scientific centers. Over the past five years, 33 varieties of agricultural crops have been created and applications have been submitted for 20 varieties of local selection.
"To create an innovative environment in agriculture, this year we opened the Agrobiotechnopark in the Laishevsky district. It should become a federal-level competence center for testing advanced practices," said Rustam Minnikhanov.
Rais noted that the Republic of Tatarstan is a livestock region and the country's leader in milk production. Among the leaders, he singled out the Kukmorsky, Baltasinsky, Menzelinsky, Sabinsky and Atninsky districts, where milk yields range from 300 to 500 tons per day, as well as successful farms where the daily milk yield is from 100 to 250 tons. These are the APC "Prodprogramma" in the Mamadyshsky district, "Kamsky Bekon" in the Menzelinsky district, "Vakhitovo" and "Ural" in the Kukmorsky district, "Severnaya Niva Tatarstan" in the Bugulminsky district. These districts and enterprises are actively introducing new technologies. We need to follow their example.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, we currently process 87% of the republic's milk. Five years ago, this figure did not exceed 50%. The task is to develop the processing of meat and plant products.
"It is also important to enter foreign markets. All conditions have been created for Tatarstan to become a grain hub of the Volga region for international supplies. A number of large-scale projects are being implemented in this area," Rais RT emphasized.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, there is also a large reserve in terms of expanding the export of halal products. Its volume has almost doubled over the past year.
