Since the beginning of this year, the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center" in the Republic of Tatarstan has confirmed compliance with the necessary requirements of 7 batches of food wheat stored in sleeves and intended for placement in the intervention fund. The total mass of the batches was 7.5 thousand tons. Based on the results of the studies, 7 quality and safety certificates were issued, confirming that the bulk of the grain examined - over 90% - is classified as class 4 (food wheat).
The technology for storing wheat in sleeves consists of pressing the grain mass in a special durable polyethylene bag, which, after full loading, is tightly sealed on both sides to stop oxygen access. An environment is formed inside the sleeve that is optimal for storing grain and unsuitable for the life and development of insects and fungi. Depending on the humidity, the grain and other crops stored inside the structure can be stored for up to 18 months, provided that the grain is healthy, clean and not broken.
The sleeves are three-layer bags made of durable polyethylene, manufactured using seamless technology, which are resistant to UV radiation and retain their functions at low and high temperatures. The length of the structure reaches 60-75 m and holds from 65 to 300 tons of grain.
Today, the largest agricultural holdings of the republic, as well as small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises, carry out grain storage in agricultural sleeves. The main advantage of this technology is the absence of capital costs for the construction of a grain storage facility.
