Sugar beet harvesting has begun in 7 districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. In total, more than 178 tons of sweet root crops have been dug up in the republic to date on an area of 4.1 thousand hectares with an average yield of 424 c/ha. This year, sugar beet is to be harvested in 11 districts across the Republic of Tatarstan from an area of 55.6 thousand hectares.
The highest yield was achieved in the Tetyushsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan - 550 c/ha. And in two districts of the Republic of Tatarstan, the yield is over 450 c/ha, these are the Zainsky and Buinsky municipal districts.
Two sugar beet processing plants are successfully operating in the Republic of Tatarstan - Zainsky Sakhar JSC and Buinsky Sakhar LLC.
JSC Zainsky Sakhar of the Agroholding Agrosila is the largest sugar beet processing enterprise in the Republic of Tatarstan and is one of the top 5 largest sugar factories in Russia. Today, the plant is one of the most powerful production sites in Russia: the processing capacity at the enterprise reaches 8,000 tons of sugar beet per day.
LLC Buinsky Sakhar of JSC HC AK BARS can process more than 700 thousand tons of beet per season and produce more than 100 thousand tons of white crystalline sugar.
