A delegation from Libya visited the Ministry
Today, the Ministry, chaired by First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Lenar Garipov, held a meeting with a delegation from Libya. Deputy Ministers Dmitry Yashin and Gelyus Bayazitov also took part in it.
Lenar Garipov presented the capabilities of the agro-industrial complex of our republic and noted that Tatarstan is one of the promising regions of Russia and ranks 5th in terms of gross agricultural output. Among Russian regions, according to preliminary results, the republic ranks: 1st place in milk production, 2nd place in potato production, 8th place in production of livestock meat and poultry for slaughter, 9th place in egg production.
In the past difficult year, more than 3.5 million tons of grain, 1.7 million tons of sugar beets, 880 thousand tons of potatoes and 264 thousand tons of vegetables were harvested.
Next, the participants discussed joint investment projects for milk and meat processing, in particular the production of milk powder.
