Forage harvesting continues in Tatarstan

14 June 2023, Wednesday

To date, 125,490 hectares have been mowed in the republic. 384 thousand 285 tons of haylage and 25 thousand 691 tons of hay were harvested.

Atninsky district is the leader in forage harvesting, where 87% of perennial grasses have been harvested. About 68% of the area has been harvested in the Chistopol region. Good mowing rates are also noted in the Apastovsky and Zainsky districts.

At the same time, some municipalities have not removed even 15% of the area. These are Verkhneuslonsky, Agryzsky, Aktanyshsky, Mendeleevsky, Novosheshminsky, Menzelinsky and Leninogorsky districts. Recall that the first mowing of perennial grasses must be completed before June 15.

It is planned to start harvesting grain crops in the republic in the first ten days of July, and today a grain harvesting complex is being prepared. However, of the 3,380 combine harvesters available, 50% have been in use for more than a decade, increasing the likelihood of breakdowns.
