Today, the ministry held a meeting on measures to prevent the death of bees. It was attended by the head of breeding and animal reproduction Gelus Bayazitov, deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Takhir Khadeev, leading adviser of the beekeeping department Almaz Gamirov, representatives of control and supervisory bodies and a public organization of beekeepers.
Gelyus Bayazitov made a welcoming speech: “Beekeeping is one of the key sectors of agriculture for our republic. We are one of the leaders in Russia in the production of honey and bee products. In 2022 alone, over 9 thousand tons of gross output and 5.5 thousand tons of marketable honey were produced.”
Despite the rapid development of beekeeping, there are problems. The key one is the death of bees from the use of pesticides and agrochemicals. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan since the autumn of last year has carried out a number of activities aimed at solving this problem: training agronomists, holding seminar meetings in municipal districts. Thanks to these measures, there is now a positive trend, beekeepers and farmers are working smoothly, safe technologies are being introduced.
“For three years, the Rosselkhoznadzor has been working together with farmers to ensure that unauthorized agrochemicals and pesticides are not used. Also, on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov, from February to April, training seminars were held with each district on the tracking system of pesticides and agrochemicals," said Idris Gatin.
Almaz Gamirov reported that the Ministry pays special attention to the beekeeping industry, as one of the most significant for the republic.
“In December 2022, for the first time in Russia, we conducted training on safe technologies for the cultivation of oilseeds (rapeseed, mustard and sunflower). These are the very crops that posed the greatest danger in previous years. We believe that there will be an effect, since many farmers have already purchased either biological drugs or drugs with a reduced hazard class (classes 3 and 4),” Almaz Gamirov emphasized.
Active introduction of biological insecticides is going on in Alkeevsky, Muslyumovsky, Vysokogorsky, Kukmorsky, Novosheshminsky, Almetevsky districts. The areas of use of drugs are significant. For example, JSC named after Tokarlikov will treat over 1,270 hectares of oilseeds with bioinsecticides.
“The issue of preserving bee colonies is very important. Beekeepers perform an important task, bees are pollinators, if there were no bees, our harvest would be much less. It is necessary to continue to train agricultural managers in systemic work so that you can know in advance which fields and how crops will be processed,” added Takhir Khadeev.
