The Ministry held a meeting with suppliers of plant protection products
Today, the Ministry, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, held a meeting with suppliers of chemical plant protection products.The issue of the application and provision of the republic with agricultural protection was discussed. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister Dmitry Yashin, Head of the branch of the Russian Agricultural Center in the Republic of Tatarstan Vitaly Novichkov, representatives of companies supplying plant protection products.
“In the Republic of Tatarstan this year, more than 4 million hectares of land have been treated against all forms of harmful objects. The annual need for pesticides is 3-3.5 thousand tons. In 2022, 3,267.7 tons of pesticides were used,” Vitaly Novichkov reported.
The largest share of this number falls on herbicides. In February of this year, there was a sharp increase in cost of the active substance glyphosate, now the price has stabilized and there is no shortage. Further, the ARHZ suppliers informed about the current situation and assured that they do not expect any problems with supplies in the coming season. Since the main suppliers are localized on the territory of the Russian Federation, a bulk of the required agricultural products have already been imported.
