Tatarstan is interested in developing cooperation with Uzbekistan

Today, the Ministry hosted a meeting with a delegation from the Surkhandarya region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Khokim Tura Bobolov. It was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, General Director of JSC "Ratsin" Denis Samodurov, Chairman of the Board of Tatpotrebsoyuz Rashat Shaimardanov, representatives of holdings and companies of the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Tatarstan.

“Uzbekistan is a fraternal and friendly republic for us. We are united by common traditions, one religion, long-standing friendly and family ties, rooted deep into several generations,” Marat Zyabbarov noted and presented the achievements of the agricultural sector of the republic.

The industry employs more than 140 thousand people, which is 7% of the economically active population of the republic. The agro-industrial complex forms about 7% of the gross regional product. In Tatarstan, by the beginning of 2022, the gross output of the agro-industrial complex amounted to 480 billion rubles.

For 10 months of 2022, products worth $17.41 million were exported from the Republic of Tatarstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan, including:

 ketchup, jams and sauces, $13.29 million;

 confectionery and flour products for $2.83 million;

 oil and fat products for $0.60 million.

For 10 months of 2022, products worth 2.34 million US dollars were imported from the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Tatarstan. Of them:

vegetables - $0.34 million;

fruits - $0.92 million;

dried fruits and nuts - 1.06 million US dollars.

“Our republics have a huge unrealized potential for increasing these indicators. We need to build further work and find specific points of contact and growth,” Marat Zyabbarov stressed.
