Yesterday, on July 14, the opening of the Tastes of Russia gastronomic festival, organized by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and the Government of Moscow, took place. This event is a continuation of a comprehensive program to support and promote regional food brands, which the Ministry has been implementing on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation since 2020.
About 300 brands take part in the festival. On the first day one of the central sites in Gorky Park was visited by the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
“Our country has been providing itself with the main types of products for a long time and continues to increase the production every year, not only for the Russian market, but also for export. At the same time, of course, not only volumes are important for consumers, but also the ability to choose from a wide range. Therefore, we will continue to support unique regional brands and help their manufacturers find their way to a mass buyer,” the Minister noted.
At the festival from the Republic of Tatarstan, national Tatar products are presented such as: Tatarstan honey "Tatar Baly", Tatarstan duck kazylyk Bulgaria, Tatar dried duck breast, Tatarstan grape drink EMIZ, Tatar Tea, Kazan Chak-chak, and Tatar sausages Halal.
Also at the festival, visitors can taste and buy Kazansky chak-chak, the national dessert of the Republic of Tatarstan. This traditional dish became the winner in the nomination "We are chosen".
At the fair, visitors can try their hand at national Tatar crafts by attending master classes and also to hear traditional music, which will be performed by the State Song and Dance Ensemble "Agidel" of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The gastronomic festival, which takes place at 22 venues in the capital, will last until July 17. In addition to the fair, festival guests can visit the largest food court in the country, take part in creative, craft and culinary master classes and get to know the culture of the peoples of Russia.
