The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan and PhosAgro-Region summed up the results of cooperation in the field of mineral fertilizers in 2021-2022

7 July 2022, Thursday

Today, within the framework of the AGROVOLGA 2022 exhibition, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov and CEO of PhosAgro-Region (part of the PhosAgro Group) Andrey Vovk discussed the results of the implementation of the agreement on cooperation in the field of mineral fertilizers between Tatarstan and PhosAgro-Region, signed a year ago, at the AGROVOLGA 2021 exhibition.

The main goal of the agreement is to increase the reliability of the supply of mineral fertilizers to agricultural producers of Tatarstan through the development of a specialized logistics infrastructure in the region in the southwestern part of the republic.

As part of the implementation of the agreement, PhosAgro-Region launched a large logistics complex in the Apastovsky district that provides the south-west of Tatarstan with mineral fertilizers, Andrey Vovk said at the meeting. The first shipment to consumers took place in July 2022, and the August-Agro holding became the first client of the new center. Until 2024, PhosAgro-Region plans to invest about 200 million rubles in the development of the asset.

“In less than a year, in fact, from scratch, facilities for the accumulation, storage and shipment of mineral fertilizers were deployed in the Apastovsky district. The complex has already been launched, we plan to complete all work before the end of this year. In the future, the one-time storage capacity of the center will reach 40 thousand tons. In addition to the opportunity to purchase fertilizers in advance and store them near farmland, farmers will be able to use our agronomic services, such as agrochemical soil analysis and agronomic support of crops. Thus, the reliability of the supply of modern mineral fertilizers to agricultural producers of the Republic, as well as their rational use, will be ensured.”

The Apastovsky distribution center has become the second logistics complex created by PhosAgro-Region in Tatarstan and the largest investment project of PhosAgro-Region in the Volga region. The launch of the first center in the Nurlatsky district in 2018 allowed PhosAgro-Volga to increase the supply of PhosAgro mineral fertilizers for the agro-industrial complex of Tatarstan by more than a third.

Andrei Vovk thanked the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan for their support in the implementation of this project. “We are focused on long-term active work in Tatarstan, in Apastovo we are implementing our largest investment project in the Volga Federal District. We are grateful to the republican authorities for stimulating the technological effectiveness of agriculture and maintaining a favorable investment climate for the implementation of major projects in the agro-industrial complex in the region.”

In turn, Marat Zyabbarov also noted the high importance and solid contribution of the company to the agro-industrial complex of the republic. PhosAgro-Region is one of the main suppliers of mineral fertilizers in the Republic of Tatarstan. The company not only reliably provides agricultural producers of Tatarstan with modern fertilizers, but also invests in the development of infrastructure, laying the foundation for a long-term successful partnership with farmers,” the minister emphasized.
