In the Kazan IT Park, the chairman of the association, chairman of the commission for the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Civic Chamber of Russia, Oleg Sirota, met with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan and heads of peasant farms.
We discussed the prospects for the development of agriculture in the region, new opportunities for agricultural business. The farmers talked about their experience in agriculture, emerging problems and issues, together with the "People's Farmer" thought about possible mechanisms for solving them.
Large agricultural, processing enterprises and small farms operate in Tatarstan. They grow grain crops, sugar beet, potatoes, produce meat, milk, eggs. The leading branch of agriculture in the republic is animal husbandry. Tatarstan is famous for local branded products and effectively promotes them on the Russian market.
“A personal farmstead is actively developing in the republic, farmers are ready to grow everything in demand. Agricultural cooperation is gaining momentum, there are more than 300 agricultural cooperatives in the republic that are engaged in the production, processing and marketing of products. This year we will process farm products worth more than 10 billion rubles,” said Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan Rishat Khabipov.
They also talked about the personnel problem, which Oleg Sirota called one of the main ones in agriculture: “We are fighting for every young specialist who knows how and is ready to work responsibly, especially with digital technology, which we are introducing today.”
To date, the Kazan State Agrarian University has been running the Farmer's School project for three years, and now the School of the Young Farmer has appeared. The region has the opportunity to train qualified personnel and provide professional support. In addition, the School of Innovative Agricultural Technologies operates in Tatarstan. A selection of students - agronomists, livestock specialists - is being carried out for training in modern biotechnologies, which future specialists will be able to implement on farms.
The working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan ended with a visit to the Turkey cooperative, where poultry meat is produced, and Iceberg, where strawberries and lettuce are grown.
