An increase in demand for bread is noted by enterprises of Tatarstan. At the same time, prices for social varieties are still restrained and will be at an acceptable level. For this purpose, a reserve of flour, sugar and other ingredients has been created in the republic, in addition, bakery enterprises will receive financial assistance.
The bakery industry is in the zone of special attention of the authorities of the republic. When the population began to show an increased demand for food products, the republic decided to create a reserve fund of flour and sugar for the production of social types of bread.
“The flour reserve fund will meet the needs of bakers. Flour - the main component in the cost of production - will be sold with a deferred payment of 45 days. The next support is fixing prices for sugar. The republic purchased 3,000 tons of sugar to meet the needs of the social bloc. Sugar will be sold to our bakers at a fixed price,” said First Deputy Minister Nail Zalakov.
These support measures will help stabilize the situation, and it will not affect the production of social products.
“Today, we can say with confidence that social bread has been and will be produced in the same volume and quality,” Nail Zalakov assured.
Retail enterprises have increased in the last three weeks the volume of applications at the Bakery and Confectionery Plant (BCP) by 3-5 tons. If earlier the enterprise was required to produce 55-60 tons of products per day, now it is 59-63 tons, General Director of the plant Bulat Kutdusov told reporters during today's press tour.
“We are seeing an increase in demand of about 4%. Applications mainly increased for “Selsky” and “Darnitsky” bread. Perhaps this is due to the fact that it is more affordable,” said the head of the company.
He said that there is support from the state - there is a subsidy program. The company expects to receive money in the second quarter.
Nevertheless, prices for social grades of bread do not increase. This is possible due to the balance: bread popular with the population is sold at a loss of 3% (indexation covers only part of the costs), costs are transferred to other products, the so-called commercial. In this segment, growth of up to 10% is possible in the future. At the same time, the profitability of the enterprise as a whole is only 2%.
“While we are receiving support for flour and sugar, we are still waiting for a decision on butter. There will also be subsidies of 4.5 rubles per kilogram of produced social products. This compensates for two-thirds of the loss. Everything is very carefully calculated and some of the costs are compensated. This allows you to keep prices down,” Bulat Kutdusov shared.
At the same time, the general director added that there is no shortage of components for making bread in Kazan, and bakery products are available on the shelves.
“There will be bread in Kazan for sure. Today we produce 60 tons of bakery products per day. We work at the request of retail chains, without carry-over balances. We have an irreducible balance of flour - about 300 tons, sugar, butter and yeast," he said.
