20 January 2022, Thursday

Today, a meeting of the Council and Presidium of the Association of Farmers, Farmsteads and Agricultural Consumer Cooperatives chaired by Kamiyar Baitemirov was held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Ministers of Agriculture and Food and the Republic of Tatarstan Lenar Garipov and Rishat Khabipov, as well as representatives of banks, competence centers, heads of departments of the ministry and heads of farms.

At the event, tasks of the Farmers Association for the next year were discussed, in particular - the possibility of resuming the construction of agro-industrial parks in the municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan, improving the economic mechanism for ensuring the profitability of peasant farms, creating advisory centers for agricultural enterprises for proper reporting, as well as, in general, all the necessary conditions for the development of rural territories.

Kamiyar Baitemirov informed the members of the Council that the 22nd Congress of the Farmers Association would be held on February 4 and stressed that it was necessary to seriously prepare for this event.

During his speech, the chairman of the Association noted that state support in Tatarstan is stronger than in other regions. Most jobs in rural areas are organized thanks to grant support.

Then Rishat Khabipov spoke.

“Tatarstan has built its policy in such a way as to support all forms of ownership. The Agroprogress program has recently been launched, followed by Agrostartup and Family Farms next week. There are support measures, but we should not forget that everything depends on us,” he said.

“Last year, 539 tons of meat, 1 billion 400 thousand eggs were produced. Meat volume increased by 2%, eggs - by 1%. That is, farms of the Republic have a huge potential for growth. It would be good to start growing bulls and heifers so that private household plots can buy animals from these sites here in Tatarstan. There are specialists who can visit each farm to check animals for pathology. Another field of study is genetics. Good productivity depends on good genetics,” Lenar Garipov said for his part.

Peasant farms are currently the most dynamic sector of the agro-industrial complex of the republic, annually increasing their share in the production of the most important types of agricultural products, including grain, milk, meat, vegetables, contributing to the creation of new jobs in rural areas. To date, farmers own 635 thousand hectares or 22% of all sown areas. This is one of the significant indicators of the growth, influence and effectiveness of the farming lifestyle. In 2021, cooperatives received 606 thousand tons of grain, or 25% of the total grain harvest.
