Today, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan held a videoconference meeting on the dynamics of seasonal vegetable harvesting. The event was chaired by the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev. Tatarstan was represented at the event by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov.
During the meeting, questions about the progress of seasonal field work in the Russian Federation, in particular, the harvesting of potatoes and sugar beets were raised. Also, the report "On the price situation at the food market" was presented by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Oksana Lut.
"In order to stabilize the situation, we expect the subjects to maximize the optimization of harvesting and the unconditional achievement of the volumes of harvesting vegetables and potatoes. It will allow us to avoid atypical price increases," Dmitry Patrushev commented.
"As for the work of the regions, I would like to note that it is very important to provide farmers with agricultural machinery, mineral fertilizers, and the seed preparation should be kept under special control. Then the planned production volumes for next year will be fulfilled," said First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dzhambulat Khatuov.
In turn, Marat Zyabbarov reported on the situation in Tatarstan.
"As of today, 80% of the area has been removed in the republic. We plan to complete the sugar beet digging by October 20. Sugar beet processing is in full swing. As of today, 605 thousand tons of beets have been delivered to sugar factories. As for the situation with potatoes, 3.7 thousand hectares have been harvested, the gross harvest is 64 thousand tons, and the average yield is 173.2 kg/ha," Marat Zyabbarov said.
Recall that in order to provide the population with agricultural products at affordable prices, Saturday fairs have been held in large industrial centers since September 11. They will continue until the end of the year.
