Autumn for a gardener is the beginning of preparation for the new season. If you do not take care of the plants now, then next year the garden will not please with early shoots and good harvests. Lyubov Zanina, Deputy head of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoznadzor" in the Republic of Tatarstan, told us about how to prepare a garden plot for the next season.

- Regularly water trees and shrubs before the onset of frost, so that they do not become dehydrated. Young trees are especially in need of watering.

- Whitewash the tree trunks. The best time for this is the last sunny days of September. This is done not for beauty, but in order to protect the bark of trees from frost, sunburn and destroy pests wintering in the bark. If you have shrubs with one trunk, then you can whitewash them like trees.

- Cut off late perennial flowers - delphinium, roses. Leave the stems 10 cm high.

- Plant tulips, hyacinths, winter garlic, onions for the new summer season.

- Remove unripe peppers and eggplants in greenhouses, let them ripen at home. From the temperature difference at night and during the day, bacteria begin to develop on these cultures.

- Try to extend the summer season. At the end of September, newly planted onions grow well on greens, as well as radishes. You can sow parsley, dill. In the greenhouse, such greenery grows well until mid-October. In heated greenhouses cucumbers ripen well even until the first snow.
