Food production increased in Tatarstan: the largest increase is in milk, vegetable oil and bakery products

This was announced by Nail Zalakov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, during a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to promoting the products of the republic's producers to the markets of Russian regions and abroad.

The event was also attended by the Chairman of the Union "Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan" Ageev Shamil Rakhimovich and the head of the department for the development of institutions for supporting small and medium-sized businesses of the Department for the Development of Entrepreneurship and Competition of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Gainov Artur Askhatovich.

At the end of 2020, food production increased by 14.1% over the same period in 2019. The largest increase was noted for unrefined vegetable oil - 129.3%, milk - 131.0%, granulated sugar - 104.9%, long-term storage bakery products - 110.2%, butter - 108.8%, fermented milk products - 108 ,8%.

“Of course, an increase in the production of goods entails the search for new markets for the sale of products. It is important for us to represent our manufacturers' food products on store shelves. For 2020, the range and availability of products did not decrease. The products in such positions as bread and bakery products, dairy products occupy from 65 to 95%, such positions as chicken eggs, granulated sugar chicken are not poorly represented, they make up about 50% ", - said Nail Zalakov.

The growth in production also contributes to an increase in the volume of exports of agricultural products. For the third year in a row, there has been an increase in products sold abroad, the republic supplied food products for a total of about US $ 273 million. The largest exporters: Kazan Oil Extraction Plant, Essen Production, Agrosila, Sariya Bio Idastris, Tatspirtprom, and this year there is also a large export of grain crops.

The main markets for our agricultural products are such countries as Turkey ($ 51.2 million), Kazakhstan ($ 41.3 million), Latvia ($ 40.5 million), Belarus ($ 23.2 million), Uzbekistan ($ 16.3 million), Germany ($ 12.0 million), Poland ($ 5.5 million) and Azerbaijan ($ 5.4 million).

The export of Halal products had good indicators in the past year, its volume increased from almost 0 to 2.5 million US dollars.

“For our part, as a sectoral ministry, we are interested in promoting our products through any mechanisms, including e-commerce, which is now actively developing. Last year, we organized meetings to promote republican manufacturers and with retail chains such as X5 retail, Magnit, Metro, Auchan, Bakhetle, Edelweiss, Valberis, Ozon, VkusVill marketplaces”, commented the First Deputy Minister. We also pay special attention to the already traditional weekend fairs.

At the request of the Department of Trade and Services of Moscow, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, a project for the sale of Halal products was launched through the "Moscow Fair", now there are 3 sites involved, for this year it is planned to launch 2 more tradeplaces.

In addition, in 2020, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation for the first time organized the All-Russian competition "Tastes of Russia" in order to promote Russian products. 21 republican brands participated in various nominations. According to the results of the competition, our producers took 1st and 2nd places in 2 nominations.
