In 2019, 21 fair days were organized in Tatarstan at 15 trading floors in Kazan, 2 trading floors in Naberezhnye Chelny, the Novaya Tura and the Osinovo settlement of Zelenodolsky district. The events were held from March 30 to April 27 and from September 14 to December 28. This was announced today at the republican meeting in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nail Zalakov.
The meeting via videoconferencing with all municipal areas was held by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin took part in the work.
Nail Zalakov said that following the results of the fairs, products worth more than 1.3 billion rubles were imported to trading floors. All kinds of meat - 2.1 thousand tons, draft milk - 500 tons, granulated sugar - 1000 tons, flour - 850 tons, cereals - 300 tons, chicken eggs - 10 million pieces, potatoes - 8 thousand tons, vegetables - 5.5 thousand tons, grain - 5 thousand tons. About 70% of the products were sold in Kazan.
Fairs are held independently in Nizhnekamsk, Almetyevsk, Chistopol, Leninogorsk, Zainsk, Elabuga, Bugulma, Bavly, Urusu. Products worth 270 million rubles were imported to these areas.
Nail Zalakov noted that traditionally, the price level at fairs organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan is below the average retail prices. So, for buckwheat, the price of which in retail chains reached 50 rubles per kg, at fairs it remained at the level of 30 rubles. Products such as cheese, milk and dairy products, potatoes and vegetables are 30-40% cheaper. Beef was sold at a price of 280 to 320 rubles / kg, pork from 220 to 250 rubles / kg, potatoes - 10 rubles / kg, draft milk - 30 rubles / liter.
At the beginning of the fall fair season, visitors bought more potatoes and vegetables, grain, flour, sugar, cereals. And on New Year's Eve, all kinds of meat, milk and dairy products were sold well, tomatoes, cucumbers and fresh river fish were in constant demand.
Nail Zalakov thanked the heads of municipalities for their active work in organizing fair events.
Nail Zalakov also noted support from the leadership of the republic, in particular, reimbursement of transport costs. “This makes it possible for agricultural producers to sell their goods on their own without taking into account logistics costs and trade margins, and citizens living in large cities could purchase quality products at prices below market,” he said.
Tent fairgrounds built in Kazan on behalf of the President of Tatarstan are in demand among the population. They function all year round. However, according to the speaker, given the construction of the second metro line, two fairgrounds fall into the construction zone.
As part of the video link, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin clarified that these fairgrounds are in demand among both citizens and farmers, so new convenient places for their organization have already been selected in the city.
