In Tatarstan, sowing of winter crops was carried out at the optimum time.
In the republic sowing of winter crops was carried out in optimal terms, 80% of the crops are in good condition. This was announced by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nail Zalakov at a meeting in the Government House of Tatarstan.
The videoconference with all municipal areas was held by the President of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov. Also, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin took part in it.
According to Nail Zalakov, winter crops were sown on an area of 494 thousand hectares in the republic for the 2020, including 370 thousand hectares (74%) of wheat, 121 thousand hectares (24%) of winter rye.
“Sowing was carried out at the optimum time. The presence of moisture made it possible to better prepare the soil and get shoots, ”said the speaker.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, 80% of winter crops are in good condition, 15% are in satisfactory condition.
According to the first deputy minister, a significant number of areas is allocated for winter crops. So, for example, in Zelenodolsk district, it is 60% of grain crops, in Spassky - 52%, Alkeevsky - 50%, Nurlatsky and Aksubaevsky - 44%, Kaybitsky - 42%.
Informing about the "very important agricultural method" - the main tillage, the speaker noted that 1.8 million hectares of arable land have been cultivated in the republic today (96% of the forecast), while 45% of these areas are with deepening of the arable layer.
At the meeting, Nail Zalakov also told about the provision of the republic's farmers with seeds of grain crops. “For the sowing of the next year, 350 thousand tons [of grain seeds] were filled up, or 102% of the need.”
