Poultry breeding in Russia is one of the most fast developing branch of farm animal production. Over 60% of poultry is produced by modern agricultural enterprises. Currently poultry production is 26.7 kg per capita. On the domestic poultry market self-sufficiency has already been achieved, the import share was only 10% last year.
For the first time in the history of Russia the record crop of rape has been got. Rape is one of the most important crop for oil and fodder protein production to satisfy needs of cattle breeding. According to the recent data the rape yield has made up 1.45 million tons, which is by 4.4% more than it was last year (1.39 million tons in 2013). The average crop yield of rape in Russia is 13.9 dt/ha, which is also higher than it was last year (12.4 dt/ha in 2013).
From January 16-25, 2015 the international trade fair of foodstuff industry, gardening, agriculture and forestry “Green Week 2015” will take place in “Messe Berlin” exhibition center (Berlin).
Tomorrow, on December 27, traditional agricultural fairs will take place on 7 Kazan sites with the aim to improve the provision of Tatarstan population with agricultural products and consumer goods.
According to the recent data of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, by December 25 2014 the daily gross milk yield has made up 2,774.5 tons, which is by 145.3 tons (6%) more than it was last year.
So far, according to the forecast there is a need for repairing of 11 thousand trucks, 3 thousand harvester threshers, 800 forage harvesters, 6 thousand seeding machines, 6 thousand rippers, 2 thousand seedbed combinations and 470 sowing machines in different farm households of the republic.
The republican meeting devoted to professional education took place in Sarmanovo Agrarian College. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – the Minister of science and Education Engel Fattakhov and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov took part in it.
Today rabbit breeding in the Russian Federation is developing and is characterized by an increase in rabbit population. In all categories of farm households it makes up 2,990 rabbits. In recent years there is a rapid development of farm households (including private ones) where there is a steady trend of rabbit population increase. The share is 86-87%.
In the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation the price policy for some kinds of agricultural products and the cost of the minimum foodstuff set in regions of the Volga Federal District have been discussed.
