Working efficiency in cattle breeding was discussed in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan

The republican session devoted to the results of work in cattle breeding for the first half of the year took place in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan today. It was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov.

The following officials participated in the session: First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nikolai Titov, Deputy Ministers, Chiefs of Agriculture and Food Directorate in municipal districts, specialists of the Chief Veterinary Directorate of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Main Monitoring Directorate “Main State Agriculture Directorate in cattle breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan”, The Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Monitoring Service Directorate of the Republic of Tatarstan, representatives of “Rosselkhozbank” open joint-stock company, “Tatarstan Consumer’s Association”, heads of investment companies, big poultry breeding farms, pig breeding farms, pedigree agricultural enterprises, big milk factories, etc.

Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nazip Khazipov made a keynote address.

According to his words, the Republic of Tatarstan takes the 2nd place in the country in livestock and poultry production for slaughter (476,000 tons).

Deputy Minister reported that by the 1st of July of the current year 59.6 thousand tons of cattle meat were produced in all types of farm households.

Also 50.3 thousand tons of pig (94.6%), 86 thousand tons of poultry (100%) and 538 million eggs were produced in all types of farm households for the first half of the year.

Tatarstan takes the 1st place among Russian regions in milk production.

Nazip Khazipov paid special attention to the issues of working efficiency among breed livestock farms where livestock of brood cows increased by 30.4% in comparison with 2008.

“Our only advantage is cattle breeding. The current weather doesn’t allow us to count on profound harvest. However if we organize our work efficiently, meet all technological requirements of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the republic will be able to provide positive dynamics for the further development of cattle breeding”, said the minister.

Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan also paid attention to harvesting. He wished good harvesting campaign and advised to analyze in details the state of cattle breeding in districts of our republic.
