Delegation from Udmurtia took an opportunity to see new selection varieties of Tatar Agrarian Research Institute

The delegation consisted of directors and chief specialists of Udmurtia seed farms.

The aim was to cooperate with scientists of Tatar Agrarian Research Institute in order to introduce selection varieties of the institute into agricultural production in Udmurtia.

The director of the institute Marsel Tagirov reported on the achievements while the leading scientists introduced new selection varieties.

Selection varieties of the institute take vast lands of barley (60%), winter wheat (40%) and millet (50%) in Udmurtia.

On experimental fields of the institute the guests had an opportunity to see new varieties of barley, pulses, winter rye, spring wheat and potato.

The scientists emphasized that even the best varieties did not guarantee good crop yield without following a cultivation technology that is why they provided agrarian passports for each variety.

At the end it was decided to extend mutual cooperation in the sphere of new selection varieties.
