Nutritious forage in the milk cows’ diet enables to increase milk yield on the farms of “SES “Sviyaga”, Apastovo municipal district.

2 years ago in one of the districts of this farm household they started to produce corn forage – a type of forage made of flattened corns. This forage is produced according to the innovative technology with the use of biological preserving agents. Within 80 days the forage is getting ripe in hermetically sealed containers. Only after that the containers can be opened. The forage is added to the diet of cows in small proportions – in grams.

At the end of the spring milk fat became 4%. As a rule, the basis milk fat of the 1st grade milk is 3.4%. If milk fat exceeds this rate, milk is sold at a higher price. Last year we managed to increase milk fat by 8%”, - informed Ilfir Gainullin, administrator at Bolshie Kokuzy, Malye Kokuzy and Shongyt districts at “SES “Sviyaga”.

This year 360 tons of this forage have been produced out of milky stage barley for the needs of the cattle farms of these districts.

As of today, 5,000 tons of top-quality silage and haylage have been conserved on Bolshye Kokuzy farm. This should be enough for the next 1.5 years.

Moreover, the enclosure for cattle is carpeted with hay, which decreases the number of hooves troubles for animals and has a positive effect for young cattle health.
