At the end of the previous week a session devoted to the issues of welfare and safety in livestock breeding took place in “Kamskiy bekon”, Tukaevo municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The following officials participated in the session: Aisylu Nigmatullina – chief of the welfare and safety department at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, Zilya Fakhrieva – chief of “Volga region center of welfare and safety”, operators of big-breeding complexes and factories, maintenance technicians in the sphere of cleaning of waste treatment facilities, specialists of welfare and safety at “Kamskiy bekon” in Tukaevo municipal district.
The report of Aisylu Nugmatullina – chief of the welfare and safety department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, - touched upon welfare and safety in Tatarstan AIC, records in this sphere for 2014 and the 1st half of 2015. During the session she paid special attention to the welfare and safety regulations for operators at pig-breeding complexes and factories, reminded about possible professional diseases connected with livestock breeding, as well as the necessary measures to be taken to prevent them.
The importance to meet all sanitary and hygiene requirements on the territories of livestock breeding farms and the need for necessary lighting and fire-fighting equipment were emphasized. The staff is to have a special qualification and the skills to work with animals. At recruiting it is necessary to take into consideration the age and the sex, because, according to the law, women and those who are under 18 are not allowed to work with breeding males. Taking into account that animals react on people somehow, giving instructions it is necessary to pay attention to such an important factor as staying calm with animals, working without shots and violence. Otherwise there may be unpredictable and negative reactions. Meeting these requirements will greatly decrease the risk of industrial accidents on livestock breeding farms.
The speech of Zilya Fakhrieva – chief of “Volga region center of welfare and safety”, - touched upon such vital issues as modern teaching welfare and safety, knowledge of fire-protection basics, special appraisal of labour conditions and premedical first aid for the injured at production site. Such important problems in livestock breeding as the safety requirements at production for maintenance technicians in cleaning of waste treatment facilities were also discussed.
