The National State Standard on organic agricultural products is approved

National State Standard Р 56508-2015 “Organic products. Production, storage and transportation regulations” was approved by the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Meteorology on June 30, 2015.

The National State Standard includes the comprehensive basis of organic production, the requirements to collection, packaging, transportation, storage, and marking of organic products.

Currently, the regulatory and legal framework of the Russian Federation in the sphere of organic production is re[resented by the following documents:

- The health and hygiene rules and standards “Hygienic requirements to the safety and the nutrition value of food products. SanR&S 2.3.2.1078-01”, approved by the chief public health official of the Russian Federation on 06.11.2001 (Directive of the chief public health official of the Russian Federation №36 dated by November 14, 2001);

- National State Standard Р 56104-2014 “Organic food products. Terms and definitions”, approved by Decree of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation №1068-ст dated by 10.09.2014 (put in the execution on 01.03.2015).
