Agricultural fairs took place at 8 Kazan sites on February 14, with the aim to improve the provision of Tatarstan population with agricultural products and consumer goods.
Tatarstan ameliorators participate in such fairs very actively, they offer products at competitive prices as well as fish from local rivers and lakes.
Director of the FSBI “Directorate “Tatmeliovoskhoz” Mars Khismatullin noted that agricultural fairs were in high demand among the city population and their popularity was increasing. Last years ameliorative companies held fairs only once a year (in the autumn), but since February 2015 together with producers and big investors they have participated in the organization of such fairs weekly.
Beside meet and dairy products, at fairs there were also potato and vegetables, buckwheat, grain, fish, honey, etc. The prices were at the level recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan and even lower. A kg of potato cost 23 rubles, a kg of cabbage and onion cost 27 rubles. Beef cost 250-290 rubles a kg, pork cost 230-270 rubles a kg. A liter of milk cost 28 rubles, a kg of buckwheat – 40-45 rubles.
