2 February 2026, Monday

Today, a meeting was held at the Elite Leading Breeding Enterprise JSC with the heads of the Republic of Tatarstan's breeding organizations to discuss the results of 2025 and the objectives for 2026. The meeting was attended by Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan; Ravil Khisamutdinov, Head of the Vysokogorsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan; Fannur Zaripov, General Director of Elite State Breeding Enterprise JSC; and Vilsur Aliullov, Director of the Soyuzplem NGO.

The Union of Dairy Breeding Organizations represents and protects the professional interests of its members—dairy breeding organizations and farms—facilitates their breeding work, coordinates the general activities of union members, including entrepreneurial activities, and creates a favorable environment for the development of dairy breeding in the Republic of Tatarstan.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Gelyus Bayazitov summarized the results of dairy breeding organizations' work for 2025. "This work is aimed at improving the genetic potential of breeding animals, allowing the republic to develop its own breeding core of highly productive cows and renew its herd by selling young animals to commercial farms for breeding," he said.

Currently, 52 agricultural producers have breeding status. Thirty-nine breeding farms are engaged in dairy cattle breeding, seven in horse breeding, two in animal husbandry and poultry farming, and one in beef cattle and sheep farming.

Gelus Bayazitov also discussed changes to subsidies for breeding livestock co-financed by the federal budget: "Starting in 2026, only expenses related to selection and breeding work will be reimbursed for cattle: appraisal, conformation and linear evaluation, provision of veterinary drugs, breeding quality records and animal tagging, milk quality control, and participation in breeding animal shows."

According to him, starting March 1, 2026, participation in the Federal State Information and Analytical System of Breeding Resources will be mandatory. "Only animals that are fully reflected in the system across all indicators will be considered breeding animals." "Productivity, heifer survival, test milking results, genotyping, and other indicators will be available to cattle buyers. Under these conditions, the role of our own high-quality breeding base is even greater. The FGIAS PR will help develop the industry by acting as a tool for increasing the effectiveness of the breeding subsidy and guaranteeing data reliability," added Gelyus Bayazitov.

Marat Zyabbarov summarized the meeting and set goals for 2026: "Ensure data entry and correct operation in the FGIAS PR system; achieve an average productivity of 11,000 kg per breeding cow; meet the demand of commercial farms for breeding young animals; engage in genomic evaluation of dairy cattle; and organize a breeding animal exhibition."

At the end of the event, Marat Zyabbarov presented representatives of breeding organizations of the Republic of Tatarstan with state and departmental awards for their contribution to the development of the agro-industrial complex.
