A delegation from the Republic of Tatarstan, led by Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, paid a working visit to the Republic of Belarus. The delegation also included Gelyus Bayazitov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan; Rafael Fattakhov, General Director of JSC Tatagroleasing; Ilham Kashapov, Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Republic of Belarus; Denis Samodurov, General Director of JSC RACIN; and Giyaz Idiyatullin, Director of Kazan Hippodrome LLC.
During the visit, Marat Zyabbarov met with representatives of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange. It is the only commodity exchange in the Republic of Belarus and one of the largest in Eastern Europe. The exhibition showcased agricultural products, including meat and dairy products, meal, feed additives, grains, seeds, cattle hides, processed oilseeds, food products, and more.
Marat Zyabbarov then met with Yuri Gorlov, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus. During the meeting, the parties discussed the potential for expanding bilateral cooperation, as well as the implementation of joint investment projects in the industry.
Marat Zyabbarov noted that the Republic of Tatarstan is self-sufficient in basic food products and is among the top five regions of the Russian Federation in terms of gross agricultural output.
The Belarusian side expressed its willingness to assist in designing livestock facilities and equipping them with the necessary technological equipment, increasing exports of amino acids and wheat gluten, and exporting the full range of products of the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation. It also expressed its willingness to train agricultural specialists in various specialties at Belarusian higher agricultural education institutions, as well as to develop cooperation between higher agricultural educational institutions.
The development of foreign economic relations and increased exports of agricultural products are consistent with the goals of the national project "International Cooperation and Export."
The delegation from the Republic of Tatarstan then toured the Belarusian State Agrarian Technical University. It trains agricultural specialists in the following areas: agricultural engineering, agricultural machinery maintenance, automation, and ecology.
During his working visit, Marat Zyabbarov also visited agro-industrial enterprises, including the livestock farming organization Algimed Agro and the potato growing, storage, and processing company Sula Plus.
Furthermore, in the Minsk region, the minister inspected the activities of the Parad equestrian school and the Republican Olympic Training Center for Equestrian Sports and Horse Breeding. He noted that Belarusian equestrian sports have a well-established structure and are actively developing, with a particular emphasis on Olympic disciplines.
