During a live Q&A session, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that the launch of the national messenger MAX was a key step toward achieving the country's full digital sovereignty.
Currently, over 75 million Russians use MAX to communicate, exchange information, and stay in touch with loved ones. In the Republic of Tatarstan, over a million people rely on the messenger daily to stay up-to-date with important news and interact with government agencies.
"MAX is not just an alternative to foreign platforms, but the result of the targeted creation of a full-fledged, sustainable, and in-demand digital ecosystem from scratch—from search and communications to financial transactions, education, and leisure. Sanctions haven't slowed our progress; they've actually accelerated it. "Today, Russia isn't following other countries' technologies—it's creating its own independent and innovative digital world," noted Bulat Gabdrakhmanov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development of the Republic of Tatarstan.
