Agricultural fairs continue across the republic. Last weekend, residents of Tatarstan visited marketplaces located in Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Zelenodolsk, Nizhnekamsk, and Kamskiye Polyany. Districts of the republic, agricultural holdings, and local farmers presented their fresh, high-quality produce.
Last Saturday, Lenar Garipov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Nazip Khazipov, Deputy Chairman of the State Council Committee on Ecology, Nature Management, Agro-Industrial and Food Policy, inspected the fairgrounds in Kazan. They toured the stalls at the fairgrounds on Tinchurin Street, appreciated the variety of products, and interacted with buyers and sellers.
A wide range of products was available to city residents at affordable prices: poultry, eggs, beef, pork, potatoes, vegetables, milk and dairy products, sugar, sunflower oil, flour, and confectionery.
Over the course of the thirteen fair weeks, agricultural products worth a total of 1,242.6 million rubles were imported, including 6,692.5 tons of vegetables: 4,050.6 tons of potatoes; 257.0 tons of bulk milk; 746.2 tons of sugar; 1,750,000 chicken eggs; and 940.3 tons of meat (including 538.8 tons of beef).
A total of 13,355 vehicles were used for the fairs.
Fairs have high social significance and are one of the most popular formats for distributing agricultural products produced by national producers. They provide a link between producers and consumers, promoting the development of agriculture and improving food security in the region, which is in line with the goals and objectives of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy."
