Today, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan held a roundtable discussion titled "Key Aspects of Implementing the Halal Standard in Organizing Worker Meals at Enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan." Rustem Gainullov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, participated in the discussion.

The roundtable discussed current issues in the halal industry in the Republic of Tatarstan, solutions for enterprises providing halal food products, and developed proposals for developing halal food outlets at Tatarstan enterprises in the medium term.

Rustem Gainullov noted that the Republic of Tatarstan is a leader in Russia in the development of the halal industry. Currently, there are over 300 enterprises operating in the region that produce products according to halal standards, including meat processing plants, dairy plants, confectionery factories, and cosmetics lines.

According to him, the volume of agricultural exports according to halal standards from the Republic of Tatarstan amounted to $14 million last year, and currently stands at $38.2 million. Mutually beneficial relations strengthen the partnership and are consistent with the goals of the national project "International Cooperation and Export."

First Deputy Mufti of Tatarstan Ilfar Khasanov noted that the development of the halal industry in Tatarstan has reached such a level that the issue of introducing halal standards into employee catering at enterprises is now being considered. "This means that the topic of observing Islamic canons has gradually begun to expand beyond family traditions and is beginning to encompass entire work teams," he emphasized.

Abbyas Shlyaposhnikov, Chairman of the Halal Standards Committee of the Muslim Spiritual Directorate of the Republic of Tatarstan, emphasized the strategic importance of providing halal food at industrial enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan. He stated that given the multinational composition of the workforce, where Muslims account for 54% of the population, providing workers with adequate nutrition is a key factor in social well-being and increasing productivity.
