Today, the State Duma of the Russian Federation held a "government hour" on the topic of "Development of modern production and advanced processing technologies in the agro-industrial complex as the basis for Russia's food security and food accessibility for the population." The meeting was attended by State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut, Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov, and representatives of relevant committees.
The Republic of Tatarstan was represented via videoconference by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Ministers of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Dmitry Yashin and Niyaz Khuramshin, Chairman of the State Council Committee on Ecology, Nature Management, Agro-Industrial and Food Policy of the Republic of Tatarstan Azat Khamayev, and Deputy Chairman of the State Council Committee on Economy, Investment, and Entrepreneurship Marat Galeyev.
As Vyacheslav Volodin noted, the share of the agricultural sector in the gross domestic product is growing. However, there are issues that the deputies will also bring to the government's attention: rising equipment costs and its service life exceeding 10 years. "We support our colleagues, noting their effectiveness. They are knowledgeable and professional, which means they will find solutions to these issues. Therefore, we need to discuss this today, among other things. "If we acknowledge the problems, then we will seek solutions," the State Duma Speaker added.
Oksana Lut reported that it is already "certain that harvests of grain, potatoes, vegetables and fruits, some oilseeds, and sugar beets will be higher than last year." "We have already harvested 141.5 million tons of grain and legumes in bunker weight. The forecast for the year remains at 135 million tons in net weight," she said. Furthermore, steady growth continues across all livestock production sectors, with positive trends expected for the year in livestock, poultry, milk, and egg production.
Anton Alikhanov, for his part, reported that the chemical industry fully supplies agricultural producers with all types of fertilizers, with two-thirds of this volume exported. Overall, according to him, fertilizer producers have invested nearly two trillion rubles in their industry over the past 10 years.
