Today, the Ministry held a meeting of the national headquarters for the prevention of the entry and spread of contagious, including particularly dangerous, animal diseases into the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was chaired by Lenar Garipov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The meeting was attended by Timur Galeev, Head of the Main Veterinary Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan; Ilnur Galeev, Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance in the Republic of Tatarstan; Ramil Sharafutdinov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Biological Resources; heads of rural settlements; heads of municipal departments of agriculture and food; heads of enterprises and farms; and entrepreneurs.
Lenar Garipov spoke about the need to take measures to prevent outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza and prevent the introduction of particularly dangerous infections such as brucellosis, African swine fever, and rabies.
He called on poultry farm managers to take exceptional biological protection measures, install additional repellents for wild and synanthropic birds, and promptly notify veterinary authorities if any bird diseases are suspected.
Timur Galeev noted that the situation with infectious diseases of animals and birds is becoming increasingly tense in the Russian Federation. He described measures to prevent the introduction and spread of particularly dangerous and contagious animal diseases in the Republic of Tatarstan. According to him, these diseases cause significant economic losses for agricultural enterprises and farms in the republic.
Ilnur Galeev spoke about the measures being taken to biologically protect enterprises from the introduction of particularly dangerous and contagious animal diseases. He identified the following as the main violations: non-compliance with veterinary legislation regarding the disinfection barrier and sanitary checkpoint, or the absence of a sanitary checkpoint and disinfection barrier, the lack of measures to prevent the presence of synanthropic birds on farms, and the unauthorized import of animals.
In conclusion, Lenar Garipov called for all necessary measures to prevent the introduction of avian influenza into the republic, the eradication and prevention of brucellosis and rabies, and the prevention of African swine fever.
