As of October 23, 2025, specialists from the Tatarstan branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "AIC Quality Control Center" confirmed the quality and safety of 34,800 tons of oilseed grain intended for export.
Before being shipped for export, samples were subject to quality and safety control in the branch's testing laboratory in accordance with the requirements of the importing countries, the contract, technical specifications, and the Customs Union Technical Regulation TR CU 015/2011 "On Grain Safety."
The main exports of the tested oilseeds were made up of flax – 13,800 tons (40%), rapeseed – 12,900 tons (37%), and mustard – 5,100 tons (15%). The branch also analyzed crops such as sunflower, vetch, milk thistle, camelina, and industrial hemp for shipments to foreign countries.
Oilseeds grown in Tatarstan were shipped to 12 countries – Belarus, China, Poland, Latvia, Mongolia, and others. The top three importers included Belarus, which purchased rapeseed, mustard, vetch, and flax totaling nearly 14,000 tons (39%), with rapeseed accounting for the majority of exports (12,900 tons). Other buyers included China, which received 10,000 tons of flax (29%), and Poland, which imported approximately 7,200 tons (21%) of mustard, vetch, flax, and camelina.
The development of foreign economic relations with friendly countries and the growth of agricultural product supplies are in line with the goals of the national "Export" project. According to the Tatarstan branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TsOK AIC," the volume of analyzed oilseed exports to Mongolia increased 2.4-fold this year compared to last year, reaching 2,200 tons, with mustard being the main product.
Tatarstan is one of the main producers of grain and oilseed crops in the Volga region. This year, the gross oilseed harvest in the republic has already exceeded 900,000 tons, 7% more than the harvest obtained in the previous year (839,000 tons). According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food, sunflower remains the main oilseed crop (gross harvest of over 400,000 tons), followed by spring rapeseed (over 320,000 tons). Sunflower's popularity is driven by demand from Tatarstan's processors and sunflower oil producers, whose products are also valued abroad for their high quality.
