22 September 2025, Monday

Behind every great event are the people who create the atmosphere. The results of Tatarstan Republic Day and Kazan City Day were summarized at the Kazan Hippodrome, and thanks were given to those who contributed their energy and heart to the organization.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Minister Gelyus Bayazitov, Minister of Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov, Director of Kazan Hippodrome LLC Vladimir Zhukovsky, Executive Director of the Tatarstan Federation of Horse Breeding and Equestrian Sports Svetlana Kappusheva, and others.

According to the Minister, today the Kazan International Equestrian Sports Complex is the largest in Russia and one of the leading in Europe. The Kazan Hippodrome continues to develop, improving its infrastructure, expanding the range of events it hosts, and enhancing its educational activities. The complex remains not only a center for equestrian sports but also an important part of the city's sports and cultural life, attracting both professional athletes and equestrian enthusiasts," he noted.

The Kazan Hippodrome continues to develop as a modern sports facility, preserving the traditions of equestrian sports and introducing innovative approaches to organizing events and training specialists.

On August 30 of this year, the third horse race in the history of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian President's Prize, was held. In anticipation of the event, the Kazan Hippodrome underwent major renovations. During the main race of the competition, a Russian record was set in the 2400m (Tep Lider - 2 minutes 31 seconds). During the event, the All-Russian record for 1600m among thoroughbreds was set for the first time (1 minute 35.6 seconds). This demonstrates the high level of organization and preparation of the arena and racetracks for hosting high-level events.

This year, approximately 190 horses from 28 regions of Russia participated in the competition. The competition was held in 14 categories, some of which were held for the first time at the Kazan Hippodrome. The total prize fund was 38 million rubles.

"Further improvements to the hippodrome's infrastructure are currently planned. A phased renovation of the stable area, the equestrian school arena, and other facilities within the complex is planned. Future plans are focused on hosting major equestrian competitions, festivals, and Spartakiads for the strongest athletes, which are of great significance for the development of the country's equestrian industry," said Marat Zyabbarov.

At the end of the event, Marat Zyabbarov presented awards to participants who contributed to the organization and holding of Tatarstan Republic Day and Kazan City Day at the Kazan Hippodrome.

"I express my sincere gratitude and deep appreciation for your professionalism, dedication, and invaluable contribution to the development of equestrian sports in Tatarstan," noted Marat Zyabbarov.
