Today, a seminar on soybean cultivation and development in the Republic of Tatarstan, "Increasing Soybean Productivity: Problems and Solutions," was held at the experimental base of the Tatar Research Institute of Agriculture. The event was attended by Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan; Dmitry Yashin, Deputy Minister; Aitugan Khaziev, Head of the Tatar Research Institute of Agriculture; Raila Kalimullina, General Director of JSC Tatagrokhimservice; and farm managers and agronomists from Tatarstan.

According to Marat Zyabbarov, soybeans are becoming one of the most profitable crops in the republic, with significant growth in cultivation area. "Ten years ago, soybean acreage amounted to 1,500 hectares, while this year, 62,000 hectares are sown with this crop. Compared to last year, the area has almost doubled. This platform, an example of collaboration between science and business, will help find technological solutions for the production of this crop, and it will become a tradition in the Republic of Tatarstan," he said.

The platform featured over 66 soybean varieties, six proprietary biological protection and treatment schemes, nine soybean inoculation methods from Russian producers, and the results of experiments using urea-ammonia mixtures.

During the seminar, participants discussed current issues in soybean breeding, seed production, and cultivation techniques. They also actively shared experiences and discussed ways to improve soybean yield and quality. Particular attention was paid to selecting varieties best suited to Tatarstan's climate, as well as developing effective plant protection schemes against diseases and pests.

Aitugan Khaziev, head of the Tatar Research Institute of Agriculture, spoke about the institute's latest achievements in soybean breeding. He noted that scientists are working to develop new varieties that are resistant to adverse weather conditions and boast high yields. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration between science and business to introduce advanced technologies in soybean production.

At the end of the seminar, participants expressed confidence that soybean development in the Republic of Tatarstan holds great promise. They noted the need to further improve soybean cultivation technologies, enhance the skills of specialists, and expand cooperation between research institutions and agricultural enterprises.
