Tatarstan Hosts Gardener's Day 2025

6 September 2025, Saturday

The national Gardener's Day 2025 was held at the Kazan Agro-Industrial Park. The event was attended by Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan; Ilya Slesarsky, Chairman of the Board of the Tatarstan Gardeners' Union; and Nazip Khazipov, State Council Deputy of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Gardener's Day is a wonderful day when we honor people who love the land, who know how to work it, and who reap bountiful harvests. Your work is more than just a hobby; it is serious work that requires knowledge, experience, and, of course, a great passion for your craft. "You show by your example how to effectively use land, grow organic products, and provide your families with healthy vitamins," noted Marat Zyabbarov.

Today, gardening is developing in Tatarstan, with over 900 gardening farms representing over 1 million people.

According to the minister, our republic is one of the few regions in Russia where gardeners' issues are addressed at the state level. Recognizing the role of gardening areas in the lives of Tatarstan residents, at the initiative of Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov, the minister emphasized, a large-scale program is being implemented to restore and develop the infrastructure of gardening non-profit partnerships (SNTs).

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov also presented certificates of honor and letters of gratitude from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan to the best employees and pioneers contributing to the development of collective gardening in municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan.

"Today, our gardening communities have taken on a new look. They are ready not only to grow healthy vegetables and fruits, but have also become permanent homes for many gardeners in our Republic," noted Ilya Slesarsky.

"We also express our sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan for their ongoing support and assistance in addressing important issues related to gardening. Your assistance stimulates the development of this socially important sector and allows us to achieve high results," he emphasized.

The event included an exhibition of production from gardeners in the Verkhneuslonsky, Zelenodolsky, Tukaevsky, Nizhnekamsky, Vysokogorsky, Pestrechinsky, and Laishevsky municipal districts, as well as the cities of Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny, where guests could enjoy fresh, homemade produce and purchase delicious farm products to take home.

Guests of the festival enjoyed various master classes on creating dried flower bookmarks, wax candles, making jewelry boxes, decorating planters, and painting on wood cuts. The entertainment program featured performances by Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Firdus Tyamayev, multi-instrumentalist Fanzil Sharifullin, the Accordion Stars Duet, winners of national and international competitions, the vocal trio Yuki, and many others.
